Welcome to Amen – Daily Prayer Journal. We believe that your prayers and personal reflections are sacred. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our iOS application and website. Our core philosophy is simple: we do not read, sell, or monetize your journal entries.
2. Information You Provide
When you use Amen, you provide content such as texts, prayers, custom tags, and personal reflections. All journal entries are stored locally on your device and securely synced via your personal Apple iCloud account. We do not have access to your journal content.
3. Purchase and Subscription Information
If you choose to subscribe to Amen Premium, your purchase is processed securely by Apple through the App Store. We do not process, collect, or store your payment details. Apple provides us with anonymous receipt data to verify your subscription status.
4. Device and Diagnostic Information
To ensure the app performs well and to help us fix bugs, we may collect anonymous crash data and basic device information (such as your device model and iOS version). All diagnostic data is completely stripped of personally identifiable information and is never linked to your journal account.
5. How Information Is Used
Any diagnostic or anonymous usage data we collect is used strictly for the purpose of improving the Amen app. This includes:
- Fixing crashes and bugs.
- Understanding general usage patterns to design better features.
- Providing customer support when you reach out to us.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information or any of your journal entries with third parties. Your data is yours. The only exceptions for sharing anonymous diagnostic data are with our secure analytics providers (e.g., Apple App Analytics) solely for product improvement.
7. Data Retention
Because your journal data is stored on your device and via your personal iCloud, you retain full control over it. If you delete the app and your iCloud data, your journal entries will be permanently removed. If you send us a support email, we retain that correspondence only as long as necessary to resolve your issue.
8. Your Choices
You have full control over your iCloud sync settings through your iOS device's System Settings. You may disable iCloud sync for Amen at any time, which restricts all journal data to local device storage only.
9. Children’s Privacy
Amen does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy. Your continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Privacy Policy.
